Charity the NeuroMuscular Centre is hosting an evening of Gorgeous Grub with Emma Kennedy, Celebrity MasterChef winner of 2012.
To be held on Saturday 16 March 2013 at the Grosvenor Hotel and Spa, in Chester city centre, Emma will be creating a sensational menu especially for the event and will be on hand throughout the evening to talk to guests about her choice of ingredients and menu, and to share her newfound knowledge of good food and fine wine. Emma says she is delighted to be attending this event in aid of the NeuroMuscular Centre and can’t wait to “get cracking” on the menu.
In addition to her acting work, Emma has been writing for Radio 4 and Radio 2 for over a decade and has won Sony Awards for The Sunday Format and The Now Show. For television, she has written several documentaries for Channel 4. Emma has written nine novels, including I Left My Tent in San Francisco and The Tent, The Bucket and Me. Emma was declared the winner of Celebrity MasterChef in September 2012 in the gruelling final against fellow contestants Michael Underwood and Danny Mills.
Emma described her experience and the trials and tribulations of taking part in a cooking competition: “A cake made me cry, a duck breast nearly did it for me and a caramel took me to the point of death – but despite the endless anxiety, constant low-level nausea and ever-present feeling that you were being chased through a wood by bears while covered in honey, MasterChef was one of the most enriching experiences of my life.”
Tickets for this event are priced at £69 per person and include a Bucks Fizz Reception on arrival, a four-course meal with half a bottle of wine per person and port with the cheese course. We will also hold a luxury auction with some spectacular prizes. 7.30pm onwards. Please order online or call 01606 861733 for tickets and further information.
