The credit union donated a day’s income to the Carers Trust

Today, 24th July 2013, the credit union will calculate its entire income for the day and donate it to the charity. This donation contributes to the Co-operative Group overall charity of the Year campaign for 2013.
Secretary of the credit union, Graham Southall, said: “The credit union is so proud to be contributing to the efforts of the many employees of the co-operative group that have raised money for Carers Trust so far”. He added, “many of our members are fundraisers, for Carers Trust, and some are carers too. So we have a great deal of empathy with the efforts of this campaign”.

The donation is likely to be a four figure amount and the board of directors unanimously supported this donation and pointed out that this was a gift from the credit union’s surplus and not from any individual member’s account or interest. The amount will be an accurate and audited equivalent of one day’s average income.
